I've had great experience with Brooks in the past and actually plan on buying a pair of their Levitate or Ghost shoes soon. That being said, I primarily run in a pair of On Cloudflow's. I was blown away by how comfortable and light they were. My first run I took off and had to hold myself back. I could hardly feel them under me.

Also, if you run that much you probably already know this, but I highly suggest going to a running specialty store that can fit you to a pair of shoes and maybe even do a stride analysis. I started training more, had knee issues, and found out the off the shelf Academy shoes I was wearing were a stability shoe and I have a neutral pronation. That probably wasn't the real cause of my knee issue but it sure didn't help. The place I went to watched the way I walked and filmed me on a treadmill. Afterwards they showed me the angles of different parts of my leg and recommend a selection of shoes that I was able to try on and run in on the treadmill. I haven't had any issues since then and really appreciate that service they offered.

Go to a proper running store (not foot locker), a real running store. Try on 5 to 10 pairs and see what fits you best. Broks is a great brand but they won't magically fit everyone.

If you go to a good store they should be able to tell what type of shoe you need based on your foot (neutral or support) and then give you a selection of shoes that you can tryout.

If you have an old pair of shoes they often show a wear pattern that can indicate what kind are appropriate for you.

Yeah. I agree with everyone suggesting that you go to a dedicated running store. There are a few in my city and we have a New Balance store that checks you out on a treadmill. I didn't want to limit myself to one brand so I went to a store that carried a bunch of brands. The salesperson that helped me out had me on the treadmill and walking around the store. I spent around 45 minutes trying on about a dozen different shoes and found a few that I liked. There was a sticker shock so I bought the least expensive pair which were some Saucony's but now I know what kind of running shoes are best for me and look for deals online. Saucony, Brooks and Asics have all worked for me. Mizuno was comfortable when I tried them on but too pricey for me at the time.

Go to the running store on kapiolani blvd. they will fit you to a running shoe. I prefer ASICS or Mizuno or Nike Air Max’s

Yea that’s the name of the store. I think they map your foot there. But I would make the journey into town and go to runners route. I have bought my running shoes from them and they were knowledgeable.

For pavement I find Altra very good.
