    I’ve given them lots of chances and every time I go I’m disappointed lol. If I’m gonna drive to Anaheim I’d rather go to a place that I know makes good beer. Not gonna drive 35 mins for shitty beer! Too many good breweries in that area to waste at a less than par place. Especially with how crowded it always is inside there. It’s just not a great experience for me

    DLI. Fort Ord is closed but I had the hilarious experience of living in housing there for a while and watching my hard fill up with shit when I flushed the toilet. I enlisted like a fool, then re-enlisted like a bigger one to go back for round 2.

    I grew up in Salinas, I know the area well. People are usually there for NPS, but some are there for the DLI. They had training going on in Fort Ord when I was a kid, I remember coming up on a Humvee with a mounted 50 cal while riding my bike one day haha

    Salinas City BBQ is the best BBQ for miles. Aptos is good, too.

    It was funny being in Monterey they’d tell us to stay out of it because of the gang violence and initiations. Never had an issue.

    Also went on a few dates with a girl from there who ended up being one of the most conservative women I’ve ever met by a landslide, which I found ironic given the area and general diversity. Went to prove : what do I know.
