Finished my subwoofer setup today, so thought I'd post pics. My objective was to maintain the factory radio, not mess around behind the dash too much, keep access to the child seat latches, and take the burden of bass off the front 6x9s. This is an upgrade from the ********* four channel plug-and-play amp that probably delivered too much power to my speakers - never raised the gains beyond zero and had some slight hiss from the tweeters even at those low levels. Specs:

    - Kicker CX600.5 five channel amp (40x4 at 4 ohms and 300x1 at 2 ohms)
    - AudioControl LC7i active LOC
    - Stinger 6000-series OFC 4 gauge amp kit
    - Stinger 6-channel RCAs
    - ********* plug-ang-play amp harness
    - Powerbass Toyota drop-in replacement speakers front/rear (6x9 components, 6.5 coax)
    - Sealed enclosure measures 29"x6.5"x10" (length/depth/height) if you're curious (10" box height is a bit of a squeeze to get under the child safety latch rail); no polyfill
    - 8" Kicker CompR 4 ohm DVC wired to a 2 ohm load
    - Some Noico sound deadener along the back of the cab and around each door speaker

The ********* harness includes a remote lead, obviating the need to get behind the radio again. For the LC7i, I just jumped power, ground, and remote from the amp instead of running separate wires. The box is 1/2" MDF, which might be a little lighter than normal, but I gobbed the seems with a combo of Gorilla Glue and Lexe, and figured an 8" subwoofer wouldn't flex it too much. I ended up with plenty of room for subwoofer excursion.

So far I'm finding that the 8" really fills out the low end and relieves pressure on the 6x9s, which are crossed over at about 80hz (one complaint about the Kicker amp is that the crossover knobs aren't super specific).

Next up is a Kicker or AudioControl bass knob.

No problem. If I were to make another box, I'd shave .5" off the height, which would give it enough room to more easily slide under the child latch rail.

Update - decided to ditch the LC7i and factory head unit. Installed a Pioneer MVH-S600BS double-din last night with the Scosche dash kit, plug-and-play harness from Amazon, and an ASWC-1. Plugged right into the reverse harness from ********* and ran the RCAs to the back of the new radio. I was less than thrilled with the LC7i bass, and I felt like trying to remedy SQ from the EnTune head unit was like polishing a turd. Will tinker with the new Pioneer's crossover and slope adjustments today, but I can already tell the signal is much, much cleaner (3 sets of 4v preouts and potential for active/networked crossover settings in a radio that costs about $80 on Amazon right now... awesome).
