Battery Dead Brake Booster Clicking

I have a 16 Tacoma off-road. I went out to the garage and heard a clicking noise. Popped my hood and could hear the brake booster clicking and it smelled kind of funny. Jumped in to start it and the battery is dead. No headlights or anything.

Question is, did the battery go bad and cause this or did this cause the dead battery?

 

What did it smell like? I've noticed a time or two a faint electrical burning smell but couldn't find the cause.

 

clicking sound = dying electricity
ticking sound = car bomb

WHICH IS IT?

 

Smells like rotten eggs. Clicking sound lol, could be a bomb though.....

 

Do you have natural gas heating?

 

I thought brake booster is just a vacuum powered diaphram, which helps you push on a hydraulic piston pushing brake fluid. What electricity is involved?
There might be a sensor which detects low brake fluid.

 

The OR and Pro have the upgraded electric booster, no vacuum.

Rotten egg smell could be just a bad battery and is gassing.

 

have it towed to the nearest Toyota Stealership ASAP

 

So, put a battery charger on it, just to see what happens.

 

get a jumpstart

 

Don't like what electricity is doing, just cut the right wire.

Probably battery sulfating. Make sure u use the right technique if you do decide to jump it!

Check the water in the battery... she may have boiled dry if you have not filled in a coupla years.... Smells like it's sulphating..!

If it needs H2o, then top her up and charge it up fully.

 

It was a bad battery. Took it in and it wouldn't even test and on the bottom had a bulge and the smell was the battery. First time that ever happened to me.
