The First Reusable Rocket Is Here
And it doesn’t belong to Elon Musk.

    ROBINSON MEYERNOV 24, 2015

For the first time in history, a rocket has successfully taken off vertically, breached Earth’s atmosphere and entered space, and successfully landed intact and vertically, says Blue Origin, the private-spaceflight company owned by Jeff Bezos.

Did someone remember to move the taco off the pad before launch? Not a fan of Tacos El Chamuscado

Don't forget Israel's moon landing attempt...didn't work out so well, but it was a valiant effort.

NASA has taken such a funding cut in the last few years it is amazing they can get anything done. Although the current administration (not gonna name names) has announced intent that we return to the moon by 2024. Never gonna happen with the state of our manned space program, but I like that we are coming back to focus on things like this.

True, though it wasn’t the last few years. Bush initiated going back to the Moon, hence phasing out Shuttle to spend funds on Constellation Program going to the Moon and then Mars.
The money never came as planned. Then Obama canceled Constellation, then pulled/made up BS NASA programs, etc, Orion as a crew return vehicle for ISS/International Space Station until he was told told nope by NASA, already have those via Soyuz and ridiculously cheaper.

Next was Obama’s let’s fly humans out to some unidentified asteroid, capture it and drag it back to Moon orbit then someday land a crew on it and drill a hole to see what it’s made of.....but best was this ‘direction’ from Obama to the NASA Administrator at the time, Charlie Bolden:

“Charles Bolden, a retired United States Marines Corps major-general and former astronaut, said in an interview with al-Jazeera that Nasa was not only a space exploration agency but also an "Earth improvement agency".

Mr Bolden said: "When I became the Nasa administrator, he [Mr Obama] charged me with three things.

"One, he wanted me to help reinspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

He added: "It is a matter of trying to reach out and get the best of all worlds, if you will, and there is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim [nations]."

    BS.

...I do know that we never landed on the Moon and it was all done in Hollywood via their anti-gravity machine for those Moon shots. ; )

And I know those 6 astronauts currently on ISS (manned since Oct 2000, 19 years) are just hanging out, star gazing....
Just an example of ISS activities for Nov 18:
    https://blogs.nasa.gov/spacestation/2018/11/

Since June of 2018, Russian launch vehicles, 7 flights, 4-Soyuz(Manned), 3 Progress(cargo), US 6 flights, 4 SpaceX cargo, 1 SpaceX crew demo, 2 Cygnus cargo, Japanese 1 flight JAXA HTV cargo.

Pretty sure NASA isn’t doing anything though....

SpaceX landed the falcon 9 on their first attempt (on land) back in December 2015. Prior to that we were only attempting to land out at sea on the autonomous drones. Since then however have landed several boosters on land and out a sea.

Now as far as blue origin, you can’t compare their “rocket” to the falcon 9 or their “landing”

Bezos much better concept than Branson.....but either of them are amateurs compared to Elon.

Musk has quite the track record with his rockets, successes, and launch manifest.
    https://www.spacex.com/missions

NASA does more than launch rockets, International Space Station - 19 years of manned operations.
