    Hey guys, looks like I'm going to have to do some repairs. Saw this last week and was so mad, I'm guessing a hit & run. Sucks, what can we do? Smh. Does anyone know a great way to fix this & that won't cost me and arm and leg? Some people say to call my insurance? But wouldn't that make my insurance go up? Others say just buy the factory code touch up paint and just paint over it. From the pics, it doesn't seem dented in, just big scratch and paint off.

    Your insurance won't go up if your truck was hit & ran, yet unable to find the person that hit you. It'll fall under "comprehensive claim", which basically is not your fault but shit happens. You'll have to pay your deductible and insurance will cover the rest.

    I’d go the touch up paint route...brush it it on in layers until it’s above the surrounding area. Wet sand to level it out then compound. Those caps have texture to them, which you will lose in the process, but you will have to look intentionally to see the difference.
