Maybe this has been been gone over multiple times but i can't find too much info on the 2.7 stuff

i currently have 265-70-17 on TRD 4 runner wheels and would like to go up to 285-70-17

would the bilstein 5100's at 1.25" +/- raise get me this? and also thought of doing a small
    strut spacer with extended studs?

is this gonna effect the 2.7 in terms of torque? it's a 5-speed

also hear that any type of lift it's recomended to change the needle bearings in the front CV?
would this be needed for such a small lift?

yo fellow utility cab owner , I have the same truck , lets be straight , you didn't buy the 2.7 for speed or power , I myself don't care about doing 90 , so I see your interest in 285 70 17 ,I have a 3 inch low range off road spacer lift with bilstien 5100s set at 0 I run 255 85 16s I also have the auto trans I very rarely drive flat for long and I honestly have no problems I also do have a 100 mile commute daily so to me I couldn't be happier love the truck, so you do no I had a buddies 285 70 17 toyo mts on 17x9 wheels and I did clear them , but im very sure it would hit the cab mount if I wheeled it your going to need 3 inches and some cmc trimming to fit a 285 and wheel it successfully without hitting the cab mount , I will say on my buddies 16 double cab with the full icon stage 4 suspension he was into his cab mount when tuning into parking lots , I drove the same wheel and tire on my truck off of his Tacoma and I didn't hit the cab mount when pulling into the same parking lot , I don't no if its a weight thing between the 2 trucks , if its engines , double cab to my access cab or what but that's my experience hope this was helpfull
