    I'm looking for a small LED module; something like this but only 4-6 inches long.

    ^^^ This one is from SuperBrightLEDs, but runs on 24V and not 12V. They do not offer a comparable 12V item. I don't want to buy a whole 100' roll of "Peel & Stick" LED tape. I just want a simple self-contained unit.

    Any thoughts? TIA

    OK. I purchased these. This morning I went to hook them up and they would not illuminate. Now here's the thing:

    I want them to come on when I turn my headlights on, so I tapped into an existing circuit for the gauge and console lights. When I turn the headlights on, this LED does not light up However, if I open the hood, and temporarily connect it to the battery posts, it lights up just fine. (Yes, it could be a loose connection, but not likely).

    So I'm wondering, do these things need a certain amount of current to be available at 12V to work?
