Took my 16 TRD OR LB to dealership as the transmission was starting to downshift hard into first at low speed. This caused somewhat of a lurch. A little background. I ordered the truck and when it was new it had some shifting issues such as gear hunting. The dealership performed some service upgrade to the ECU and all was well. Now with about 30 thousand it began acting up as described above. The dealership told me there was another service upgrade for the ECU. They downloaded it and my truck shifts perfectly again. Interesting that the service guy initially told me there were no issues he was aware of in regards to the transmission, but when I returned to pick it up the paperwork indicated the available ECU upgrade for the transmission. For what it is worth to all shifting complainers. I guess there is help.

There’s been a couple TSBs. Also be sure the transmission fluid is filled to spec

There is no TSB number. It indicates, "Verified an ECU update available for engine/trans ECU. Installed latest software for engine and trans ECU S." That's verbatim. Also, when my truck was new, the fluid level was checked and found to be one half quart low. So that is not the issue now.

In all likelihood it seems better because learned values have been reset, give it some time, you’ll be back here complaining about how crappy it shifts.. and rightfully so

Thats true unless you change your driving habits or..... use S6 everytime. S mode there’s no learning so it goes back to the time when it was first flashed. Just FYI

I received the latest ECU update for shifting and it's driving like the Shift Sense Pro is on 24/7, yet smoother. I may put my SSP on sale here soon.
