No, I settled for the driver side. I ran out of light and was doing this in the parking lot. They were closing, so I just stowed everything back in the truck .

Of course, if dumbass here had not wasted two hours trying to put the wrong one on...

You look really young to be so talented. My son is 18 and you don't look older than he.
Good on you, having skills and a career at an early age!

I turn 20 here soon. Im in school for industrial automation. I had a very pushy teacher back in highschool who wanted to see me become a welder/machinist. I took one tig class and hated it. But it is a nice hobby lol, and it got me a part time job while im in school.

Its too dang slow. I like burning 7018's one after another or burning through 40lb spools of mig wire.

Ever blow a keyhole in a tig root pass and turn your entire test plate into scrap but the school still makes you weld it fully out which takes a full 3 hours ish? That was my common mistake back in class. I passed but swore to myself never again. Most frustrated/stressed Ive ever got regarding school. And it wasnt like I could practice at home at the time. I didnt touch a tig welder again until I made those sliders. The passenger side is all tig, the drivers has some 7018 cause I wanted to hurry up as it was only 20 degrees out when I built those.

3/8" plate AWS D1.1 test so a 1/8" open root. 7 passes total, 1 root, 1 hot, 2 fillers, 3 caps. 3/32" filler rod on all but the root which was 1/8" rod.

Its really only good for the 1/8" root as it should lay in without falling through if you fit up the plates right. IMG_20170404_205410839.jpg

Are those trucks lined up square? I can’t believe that third gen is about the same size as a first regardless of suspension. They look so much bigger

Tbh I have no clue why they teach structural tig. I was expecting more stainless tubing etc. Ya know, stuff you'd actually use tig for.

Broke my corner lights. I had re routed them. Cut the bottoms and sealed them up to the corners. Whats another alternative? Motorcycle lights? Im buying another set of corners. I dont want to cut into the corners again? I have a trail gear front bumper

Getting everything ready for the lift/suspension overhaul. Going to be replacing the front UCAs, LBJs, and tie rod ends. As well as the engine and tranny mounts. C1053940-E1BD-4BBF-B8A7-FD8B12B842A0.jpg

Got it mostly together, need to torque everything to spec and put on the BPV bracket from BAMF then take it for a test drive. The rest of that shit can wait until tomorrow though. I’m done for the night.
