    Hi Folks!

Stopping by to say hello, and introduce myself. Just picked up my second new Tacoma about 6 weeks ago, and I’m starting down the customizing path a bit. Famous last words, but I don’t plan on anything extravagant. Lol!

Looking forward to interacting, learning, and contributing where I can. Thanks for having me!

I’m NKY as well! Bought my new Tacoma from Kerry Toyota in Florence. First time I’ve ever bought a vehicle from them, but I used to have my ‘06 serviced there. It was a great experience, and I’ll certainly buy there again.

I'm glad you did. I started my buying process there too, but with a totally different experience. I wanted an SR Access cab, 4x4 with the V-6. SR 5 convenience package and SX package. I wanted a no $ down lease, ( 36M/ 12,000 miles per year ) With their offer of $12,000 for my trade, that did essentially give them $800 ,as the buy out on my car was $11,200.

There best deal was a lease payment of $390/month! And this was after 3 trips there! The actual people there were nice, I'd have no problem having a few beers with them, but as far as willingness to deal, it was like talking to the Mob.

Went to Joseph Toyota, paper work in hand and told them what I wanted. I told them I had been to Kerry and did disclose the offer they gave me on the trade, but that was it! Their first offer ended up being $308/ month! So you know they were knocking a hell of a lot off the cost of the vehicle, which I knew they could because I did my homework. I almost signed the contract then and there, but quite frankly wanted more for the 2015 GTI I was trading and told them that. I had it advertised on Craigslist, Cars.com, Autotrader, and Facebook for $13,500 ( fair market was 15 -16.5 ) and I was getting some calls and a few stopped out to see

I was still torn between White and Silver, and it was a weird coincidence that Kings Toyota had the exact truck I was looking at, in Silver..... only it was a 4 banger. I went out there just to see the color combination...that was it! Cause I felt Joseph Toyota acted in good faith and presented a great offer right off the bat......not the experience I had at Kerry Toyota.

Well you know what happened next................. a salesman walks up and asks if I'd give him a chance to earn my business. I thought what the hell. I told him where I had been and that I was convinced I was buying at Joseph, but no actual numbers except what the trade was worth. He comes back right at the same number Joseph!! $309/ m but as we are sitting there, the VW dealership they have emails him and says they will go $13,000 on my trade. That took the lease down to $290/month and........ I actually got a more expensive truck because this one has the tonneau cover on it.

I will NEVER deal with Kerry!

Sounds like you really did your homework. Glad you got a great deal! I had a good idea of what I was looking for from surfing the internet for a few weeks, but hadn’t really driven one of the Gen 3’s or even looked real close for that matter.

I think my experience was different for a couple of reasons. I bought my truck outright (had a good sized down payment anyway), and didn’t lease. I drive too much for a lease to work for me. My truck was also one of 3 “left-over” 2018’s left on the lot. They were really motivated to move it, as they had a lot full of 2019’s. My only real “had-to-have” items, were V6 and 4x4. Everything else was a bonus. I was prepared to walk if I couldn’t get a good deal.

They didn’t pressure me at all. After a decent test drive, we started “talking turkey” on dollars and cents. They made an offer. I countered. They made another offer and I accepted it. At the end of the day, I got a great new truck for $9k under sticker. I’m happy with that. Like you said, they were super nice folks and very professional.

Did you end up buying the White 2018 TRD Sport they had? I test drove that one and was really tempted to buy it.

I bought the 2018 Silver TRD Off-Road. I looked at that white one, but white vehicles and I don’t get along well. Didn’t want to tempt fate. Lol.

Close enough to Cinci for me. I’d like to be closer to Lexington, but I digress. Someday :)
