Phil asked me to put the order in using the website and use the note section for the stuff that's not on the website but can be ordered, like the Alu-cab awning in my case. The items in the note section will be quoted separately(I assume that would be when your Drifter gets closer to the production batch). I have not received my quote yet but I placed my order in mid to late February.

Oh my. I can see how a narrow tall tire could be more roll prompt. We’re you doing a high speed turn or crawling over something what happened ?

Flush lights are a great option. I wish I had known about that. I am stoked to be getting my Drifter at the end of the month.

That’s awesome - congrats! Yeah the lights are bright and super useful. Phil set it up so the backside of the light and wiring are level with the wiring track. I wanted all exterior options completed so I wouldn’t be the one punching and sealing holes in the shell.

I requested Rigid scene lights to be installed on each side. Also didn't want to deal with making holes and sealing them.

Punching holes in the Drifter isn’t that bad...

I only say this because punching holes in my old Flippac was terrifying. I much prefer to work with aluminum over fiber glass haha

I noticed that the price went up for the Goose Gear package by $500 will there be a sale anytime during the year? Also if you price everything individually on goose gears website it comes out $235 cheaper, is that because Vagabond includes installation in their price?

Another thing is regarding the powder coat, how late in the build process can this be decided on? Im really torn on the subject as I want the protection and willing to invest the money, just not sure about the color. I went with a matte black decal on my hood, doors, and bedsides so Im leaning towards black being more and more acceptable.

I know they had a price break on the Drifter/GooseGear setup when it was first released. not sure about the GooseGear website prices though.

They had intro pricing available for a limited time. It’s been 4 months since it was released...so I imagine that limited time has ended.

I chose the new gray powder coating and love the color.

Thank you vagabond for making such an awesome product.

That grey looks really close to the silver of my truck. Hmm...maybe that color will be it. :)

Well lads the missus and I just put or order in for a Drifter.

after loads and loads of reading here on TW we decided to do the Passenger and Driver sliding glass with screen windows, L track, 12v and USB.

super excited and can't wait until we get to head down and pick it up........ in 8-10 months :playball: so until then we are gonna keep reading and seeing what you guys come up with for DYI upgrades to the livable space

    Hey Anderson,

what makes it worth the add on ? I'd have thought with the windows that the ventilation would be okay. As I am new to the whole not having to carry my accommodations in a pack I would love to hear some real world advice and kind of learn the thought process people use for making these kind of decisions.

Thanks for the reply and any advice you have to offer.

    Cheers

A hot summer without a fan on a windless night will help convince a person to have some form of electro-mechanical wind turbulence. Also, if using a radiant heat source during the winter time, you’ll want ventilation for the condensation as well as the ability to vent the carbon dioxide buildup. And one more benefit is that the roof structure has more bracing on fan equipped models. This could be beneficial if one plans to plant their asses on a rooftop for that champagne sunset...

It also appears you and I both speak the same galactic basic.

Yep those are all very valid points man and I didn't really think of any of them :( ........ how much taller does it make the camper ? I will need to measure the height of the garage as it is the drifter is gonna be tight getting through the opening the ceiling is 8 or 9 ft but for some reason the opening is like 7.5ft...... good thing the taco is not lifted !

Nice man are you 501st as well ? I am a huge fan ep 4 5 6 not so much of the prequals or of ep 7 8 but loved rouge one !!
