40,000 km KO2s with mild use 265/70/17 and rotated Reg
Had a 5 psi leak over 1 week span for last 4-6 weeks

Costco saying will not fix/put back on
I get that and for the cost safety, I’m ok to pay

Should I be concerned with new vs the worn 3 ?

Do I then have damaged tire fixed and mounted for my spare as will now match as spare would be oem size and brand ?

Drivers side tire, do I place new tire in front ? And don’t rotate out ?in wanting more wear to it

I wanted to change tires to less aggressive due to use, but at end of life of current tires

+ need truck in a day

In the past when I had a blow out during the midpoint of the tire set's life I replace the most worn two. Once I do the full change, the best tire from the previous gets mounted on the spare wheel.

You could just replace the bad one like you said and leave it on the front till you buy all new tires. When you rotate just go right to left with that one tire, and do the rest like normal. Once you buy all new tires you could take that good condition odd-ball and mount it on your spare wheel. I would not drive spiritedly on wet roads ect.

Every time I get down to the last 10k miles of life in my tires and something happens to them I just replace the whole set. At that point I'm like you and have already put some thought into my next set.

Just my opinion, I'm not a professional tire guy or mechanic. Pretty good at balancing a budget though. ;-)

    Thanks for feedback.

I was going to switch to a Michelin LTX at2 but are very similar to cost to the KO2s surprisingly

Feel I just need to eat it on this one and consider it safer than before w slow leak

I was more concerned w having one new tire running w 3 others w/ 40k kms
