Has anyone out their with a double cab Tacoma had 2 forward facing car seats and a booster seat in the back seat before? Is it possible and is it comfortable?

I know a full size would be optimal but the kids and wife will only be in the truck when we go fishing, hunting and camping. 90% of the time it will be just me in the truck.

I am planning on trying this out at the dealership but getting all three car seats to a dealership, that's an hour away, during the spring when all three kids have sports every night is proving to be a logistical nightmare.

If anyone could provide experience with this it would be greatly appreciated!

I have 1 forward and 1 backward its ok. I bought graco slim fits.

Its really going to depend on the size of carseat, and you may have to buy different ones. But it can work.

If you search the forums theres a big car seat thread.

I think the graco slimfit has a smaller profile than that one. I have one rear facing behind the passenger seat and my wife sits in it comfortably, 5' 5"

but yes, op will probably have to buy smaller profile ones.

Tacoma is not the vehicle for car seats. Will it work? Yeah is it comfortable. Not really. SUV or full sized is the way to go.

I have a forward facing Recaro sport high back booster and a Graco booster in the back of my 2nd Gen double cab right now. Plenty of room for both kids (ages 6 and 3). I had two forward facing Recaro seats back there for several years (one was a convertible which was rear facing for a while as well) and while the passenger front seat couldn’t be moved back all the way when it was rear facing, plenty of room with that setup as well.

If you want to fit three seats back there comfortably, you’re going to need them all to be forward facing and preferably one or two of them boosters. I could fit a third booster in the middle of my current setup and the Recaro sport high back booster is not small. To fit two forward facing seats and a booster you’d need slim forward facing seats or it’ll be cramped.

    Thanks everyone!

I cant believe I missed this thread, It's exactly what I was looking for!

I think you guys are correct, the car seats we currently have are on the wide side. Looks like my first mod will be....new carseats...
