So I am on my second Tacoma. My first was a brand new 2012 4 cyl. Prerunner. I had wanted one since Marty McFly came Back from the Future to find one in his garage to go to the party at the lake. It had no cover which made it difficult to haul my son's gear to baseball tournaments (especially if we were staying over). The alternative was taking my wife's Odyssey (which was similar to leaving my testicles in a jar on the kitchen windowsill.) Loved that truck but HATED the 4 cyl. That Taco was killed by a texter as I sat behind a woman trying to decide whether to make a right-hand turn. The upside silver lining is that it allowed me to purchase a new to me 2012 Tacoma with the 4.0 6 cyl. motor. It also came with a tri-fold tonneau that was almost a hard top. It had styrofoam panels covered in vinyl. I have not found a brand name on it. After adding a Pop and Lock (yeah, I know) I was in business for baseball, testicles intact! Lo and behold the cover has now failed. The styrofoam has cracked and a replacement must be purchased. I need a cover that will provide enough security for my son's gear and my cooler, canopy and luggage for the time he is playing (not overnight parking lot storage.) I am at a loss, as I have no experience with covers, as to what will best fit these circumstances. The cover that I had was sufficient, but I have no idea if it was considered hard or soft as it had no discernible brand name. Any help and direction that y'all could provide would be greatly appreciated.IMG_3571.jpg IMG_3570.jpg IMG_3570.jpg

Welcome to TW I went with the Weathertech aluminum cover for my Taco. This does get hot to the touch but I live in Florida so the sun is intense. Though no rain issues which we get a lot of rain in the summer as well.
    Enjoy your truck!
