I think I’m going to order the Aries as well. Price looks good.

I want to caution everyone before you all go out and buy the Aries. People's taste varies. These are not fancy slick looking sexy seat covers. They are strictly no nonsense utilitarian covers. I personally think they are fantastic for myself or anyone else who is hard on interiors. You know blue collar job, mud, grime, nasty filth, etc. Hunters and outdoorsman. Folks with messy kids. That sort of thing. If you buy these to make the local panties drop, well your in for a dry spell! There are videos on YouTube and elsewhere. Check them out before you buy. I'd buy the exact same covers again if I ever wear these out. I like them that much, but they probably are not for everyone when it comes to looks.

yeah I'm not looking for something fancy. Just need to protect the seat when I'm dirty and when I have my husky in the back. I can remove it and ride normal when I'm clean. I was going to get the cahartt but the Aries are so much less that I could buy Aries and clazio to put under lol.

They look like they'll be better than hanging a towel over my seat. Other dirtbags at the trailhead will be jealous. I ordered two.

I ordered all of mine in gray from Etrailer. Didn't really price check. They are available in gray, black, and camo.

I got the Aries because I can put it on when I'm dirty and take it off when I'm not. That way I'm not sitting on dirty, grimy seat covers when I'm in clean clothes.

Got these off ebay front and rear 160.00, 100% coverage not great but for a maintenance cover very nice. 20190324_134938.jpg 20190324_135029.jpg

Glad I stumbled across this. Was just wondering what people use when they get dirty/sweaty. Dirty is less common for me but sweaty every day after working out at the trail.

If the steel is like the steel that I get to work with there is no washing off the burnt oil coating off much of anything. I wear the cheapest work gloves I can find, because that is all you can do. They become black in a few moments, and so do any shirts or jeans that brush against the coating on the steel. The black ends up everywhere. My face my hands and it take a safety kleen bath and minutes to wash my hands. The safety Kleen runs black. It will make the floors black if there is enough, and your boots will be black and stay black.

At least the black doesn't get airborne, but the best way to describe the way it moves is like chalk on a board. just less dusty. When I do that work I wear throw away or old and stained.

You can used nicer seat covers for a little spot of mud, some sand, maybe a little pine pitch, and sweat.

The OP is going to be working in a place where there is new steel, and it has a rust preventive made of oil waste oil burnt on. The coating brushes off on anything that touches it. He is an electrician and which means he is going to love that steel a lot. Leaning, drilling running wires installing connector, and probably control panels. He will be surrounded by this black stuff that will almost jump off the steel to get you a streak of black.

Nothing will wash it clean of seat covers, coveralls, jeans boots or shirts. If you are asked to lift one end of steel with this coating on your hands will be black and soapy warm water won't cut the oil.

I don't know what 500 dollar carhartt seat covers are, and I am not going to even google them, but if these come in carhartt brown in a few days they will be greasy black in places and end up a sort of camo, you can never ever get clean unless you burn them.

I happen to build the control cabinets for water systems in Ct hospitals, and other controls and machines to make things. I get into places with this steel and build things with it too. I am sure if he shows up to work all bright and sparkly clean someone will say Hey Buddy help me move this steel as a joke. I have ;)

A related question, does anyone have recs for a seat protector? I don’t think a cover will help protect the leather long term from cracking and tearing. I’m hoping there is something to absorb the wear.

For leather you can use saddle soap to clean it, and real Neatsfoot oil not mink oil, but real Neatsfoot oil to protect the leather. These will probably darken the leather. I have no idea what taco leather is like. A place besides maybe on line that would have this stuff is saddle and horse tack shops . If you are talking a cover that would probably be a cushion like at Auto Zone, where it would keep your sweat off the leather in hot weather. Leathers don't care for salts in sweat .
