Hello guys, not sure if theres already a thread about this, if there is please direct me, if not please discuss with me.

So Im thinking of getting the replacement bumper cover from CARiD or go genuine with toyota’s. As far as I know, CariD state on their website “Primed” and Toyota sales man told me “I think its ready to paint.”

My question is, does anyone who may have gone through this process know if I still need to primer it or just straight to painting base and clear after?

    Thanks team!

    Just a driver mod.
You can search "Bumpershellz" . I don't think they offer your color but they have paintable covers.

Assuming your car is inferno, and that bumper does come black, I would scuff (red 3m pad is good for this) and then spray a grey primer, then your color. The black would likely be too dark and would look slightly different then the rest of your panels if you sprayed your basecoat (inferno) right over it.

Okay, that’s what i was thinking too. But I was also curious if I should spray adhesive first then prime then base... or just str8 to grey prime then base... But if these are prime and paint ready, I’ll prob go the scuff, prime, base, clear route... thanks btw.
