Fair point. But as a homeowner you could always justify a trailer

you are correct, a trailer is always useful. so that's a good point if you make it simple to remove and go back to standard trailer...but if I'm doing a trailer for my RTT that's so I DON'T have to take it off...

Truth. I’d love to build one off a utility trailer with removable bars that could double to carry steel

I just sold my RTT as well since I like ground tents for the ease of things and still being able to do night driving. Madness that you have bought and sold twice though...what got you to come back a second time?

I sold it the first time to go to a simple hardshell tent for just me. Then when I started dating my girlfriend the hardshell just wasn't big enough for the two of us. So I started searching around and actually found my original one up for sale again and ended up trading the hardshell+$ for it to get us more space. It worked great space wise, but then she got a puppy and wants to bring it everytime...and the RTT/ladder setup just doesn't work well for the dog.

Yea I would think the zippable annex thing would be the best for the dog with some sort of mat at the bottom so they can sleep comfortably. Could the dog ever get up the ladder? Would be an impressive feat.

Have to carry them up. Problem is they have separation anxiety and wouldnt want to sleep in the annex. I dont even like putting the annex up it's such a pain to put up and tear down though

Yea man makes sense then how having an RTT just isnt feasible for your situation.

Also....a ground tent isn’t on squeaky leaf springs / bushings when movement starts in the tent.

Sure is an odd time to do something like that with the dog when the girlfriend is readily available. But live your dream bro!
