I posted earlier about my ashtray/switch panel mod and listed my ashtray for free.

Well, just before heading out, someone actually messaged me about the ashtray! Exchanged a few messages and since I was on my way out, figured I could get it shipped today.

This delay caused me to stumble upon this young gal -

    20190418_140949.jpg

The unfortunate truth is, I live outside the city and its common to find either lost or abandoned dogs, on my road. Being a dog lover (and owner), I had to do something.

I pulled over, did a 3 point U-turn, and parked with my hazards on. This dog was on and off the road and almost got hit by oncoming traffic! Fortunately, I had caught its attention and was very careful as to not scare her off. A few pets and belly rubs later, she's on my truck!

    20190418_142001.jpg

I had to make due with a ratchet strap. Anyway, since I was about a minute away from home, I thought I'd turn back and try to get it some food and water. Had to borrow my dogs dish for that...I'm sure she didn't like that. Anyway, after a little bit of water, she ignored the food and insisted on being close to me...poor girl.

Since I can't keep her (no time and no space), I decided to drive up and down and find out if anyone was looking for her. Even went down to the Feed and Pet supply, Pet Smart, and other places where people post "Lost and Found" ads; no luck.

    20190418_142055.jpg

Spent a little time with her, to make sure she was calm and doing OK. I texted several friends and co workers to keep an eye out on social media in the event that someone may be missing their dog.

Since nothing came of it, last thing I could do is drop this girl off at the SPCA. I only go to one that I'm familiar with; it's a no-kill shelter and some of the volunteers have even fostered dogs like these to make sure they go to a good home.

She literally just laid down and sighed, as if she knew this was our farewell. I hope she either finds her home, or better yet, finds someone that'll appreciate this young pup!

Anyway, I digress. The point of this thread was in hopes to find this missing piece!

It sits above the seat-back in my access cab; have tried looking through Rockauto but can't find the part number or name for the life of me!

Sorry I don't have that part, but the dog is very cute and I wish I was closer to do something about its homelessness

That’s really nice of you to stop and get the dog like that. Hopefully he’s able to find a good home.

If I didn't devote my off time to the one dog I have, I would've loved to take her in.

I knew that much, but you'd be surprised at the results you'd get in either a google or ebay search.

Thanks so much for those part numbers!

I hope so too; they have my information since I'm the person who took her in. I'll contact them to check on the pups status.

No chip? Beauty she is. To bad it's 6 thousand miles away. I'd grab her on the spot.

That dog would sat up front with me.

    And probably never left.

That would've been the case, but I had stuff in my truck that I was dropping off and giving away. Full house.

I drove slow the whole time until I got home and got my dog's line and attached it to the other tie down.

Because of this, I went out and bought another one so that I'll always have one in the truck now. It's part of my small recovery gear kit.

I didn't want to use it either but since it was temporary, I figured it'd be alright.

She stuck her head through the access cab rear window a few times until she went to the side and let the breeze hit her. Looks like she enjoyed the ride.

    Forgot to update this;

    1. I got the part I needed, thanks!

    2. The dog was estimated to be just over a year old. I went to visit her the week after and she was pending adoption. A follow up just a few days later confirmed that; she has her new forever home!
