Actually to the Toyota dealer to get my 1st free oil/filter changed ! Miles and time don't matter, just take advantage...per the dealer. I only put on 8-10k a year. This is the best vehicle in my lifetime ownership of 12, of which 4 were trucks. The last one an '03 Tundra which is almost tied with the Tacoma as #1.

Both excellent and truly awful fuel economy is possible, even on a stock truck. This is from the 2016 AT I had. Stock truck.

    Factory wranglers

Some are in the Midwest - IA & SD
Few out west. One is out in Utah & AZ

Unless you are driving mountain passes all the time, your cruising speed and the quality of fuel have the biggest impact from what I’ve seen. There’s been times I’ve driven the same route and had huge variations in fuel economy depending on the fuel brand. I ran a lot of trips on I80 across Iowa then up I29 to SD. I had tanks of 20+ and also at least one around 14 on that route.

Yes. +/- 50 degrees seems to have a noticeable impact as well. It’s weird

Stock short bed double cab Off-road. I typically see around 18mpg when doing around town stop and go, usually 22+ when doing highway driving. Have over 300miles on the current tank and the average is at 21.2mpg with a mix of town and highway. I drive reasonably, only use the ECT button when I need it, and try to keep it under 80 on the highway. I live a mile above sea level too in Colorado and just rolled 10K miles on the truck.

    Search on Fuelly.

I usually get 19mpg with mostly highway driving with hills. My daily commute includes an 1,100ft descent/ascent over a 2 mile stretch.

Worst I've seen is 18mpg in the winter. Best I've seen is 23.5mpg on a 5 hour highway trip.

Access cab V6 4x4, last tank was 17mpg which had 4WD use (10% of the time). My truck is sitting on 255/85r16 (33") tires and no other mods. Most of my driving is stop and go town traffic as everything is fairly condensed.

Report back when tank is empty. You’ll then have overall mpg.

i have 2016 TRD Sport DCLB 3.5L V-6.........my overall average now has risen to 22.7mpg......I drive speed limit and dod not jack rabbit start......I have 30k miles, and use 0w-x20 Mobile 1.......i am getting 22-27mpg average tank mileage most of the time.....i really love this truck....was wanting to maybe trade to get the Sand color, but with all the issues with the new ones and the TSS issues I think I may wait......I really like the cloth-heated seats.now also.....It runs good and I am satisfied.....If i could get 34k i might consider selling though......hehehehe

Report back when you've run your tank dry, burning up your fuel pump, and are stranded in the middle of nowhere. Where no one can hear you scream.
