I noticed significant rear suspension sag when loaded for a family ski weekend (4 occupants + ski gear and luggage). Rear suspension would bottom out even over moderate bumps. Have decided I need to augment or replace my rear leaf springs. I'm impressed by what I've read about Icon Vehicle Dynamics suspension systems. Trying to decide between the Icon add-a-leaf kit (P/N 51100) versus the Multi-Rate RXT Leaf Spring Kit (P/N 51101). Anyone have a recommendation?

They have worked well for me so far.

5100/885 w/ 1/4 lean spacer, Icon RXT w/ B110’s, 255/80/17 FWP, AP Apex Sliders, KDMax 87, ADD W1, BD mirror riser
I started with Sumosprings to solve that problem and now use them as bumpstops for my Icon RXT full leafpack in setup 2. It used to sit on the SS’s 100% of the time and was much stiffer than the soft front end, making it buck. Love the RXT ride, minimal lift and the ability to go to setup 3 if I ever want to lift or carry more.

I left the stock shocks in there for a while but now have extended length shocks and brake lines. I run Bilstein 5100’s set at 0 lift and OME 885’s in front (+1/4 top plate spacer on driver side) to offset the rear lift. There are a ton of front end options out there.

The 3 leaf add a leaf lifts you too much for a stock front end when using an overload so most run that lift without the overload leaf. That’s not an option for you because of the weight you want to support.

You’ll need to lift the front a little (1.5-2.0) to keep it from nose-diving with the RXT’s. Or lift a lot (2.5-3.0) for 3 leaf AAL with overload. The inch makes the difference of needing aftermarket upper control arms and potentially wearing out inner cv boots (very) prematurely.

Riderite air springs with Daystar cradles will solve that issue and still give you offroad flex. Never mind those here who will point out that it voids the Firestone warranty, yes it does, but they work really well and several of us using them here have not had issues. Just check them for proper seating if you lift the truck on a tall jack.

You can get them from @HeadStrong Off-Road, for a good price along with AAL’s that are another good option ( I use both).

I didn’t measure before and after but they are adjustable. Here’s a link to their website:https://activesuspension.com/

You'd be surprised how well an add-a-leaf keeps the rear from sagging and bottoming out. Less than $100 in parts.

For load help with AAL’s go for the the long single-leaf versions

Were you just running an add a leaf when you were using the sumo springs? What weight rate did you go with?
