Easter Sunday this year will be VERY INTERESTING for me. My Parents are in California visiting Cousins for Easter. This leaves me available to visit....well, I was adopted a birth. I found my biological family just under a year ago. I'll be meeting a great deal of that family this Easter! I'm Excited!, Apprehensive!, and Nervous! THIS will be an AWESOME weekend!

Probably a bit personal, but heck! I'm excited! And y'all seem like good folks that can understand!

I was just in San Antonio from Sunday to Wednesday. Cruised over to Gonzalez, Shiner, Luckenbach, and Hye for some beer, bourbon, and BBQ. She Who Must Be Obeyed was asking about good spots for BBQ and I told her if we had more time we would hit Lockhart, but I was there for a conference and didn't get enough time freed up to hit Lockhart. Love Black's and Kreutz's.

Give you a hint, today is getting a rough shape. Tomorrow I will be bending and welding. Like I said the other day, if it comes out nice I’ll let everyone know!

Don't know how long it's been since you been here, but we actually have grown a little. Chisolm Trail is new ownership, and not as popular. Kreutz's is actually now in a NEW place (yes, they hauled the burning wood from Old to New!), and the original location is now Smitty's! Daughter of the original owner was given the property, and son the BBQ business when dad died. Typical Texas feud - she raised the rent until he had to move, and built a new place. It was on 60 minutes a few years back! So, now Kreuz has locations across the land, including New York City (where I sent my son and his friends when he was in college in Hoboken across the river - so his friend from the NE had TX BBQ!) Yes, the fly the oak and meats in!
    What a world!

I hate these backfill posts that I have already passed! PSYCHED for you buddy, and I hope it goes as well as every one is anticipating. No parents left, just my sister and our little family. I hope it is everything you hoped it could be, and lasts a lifetime!

Roger that! I have known since I could understand what adoption was, that I WAS. It's a great deal for me.

My parents (the folks that raised me) are absolutely awesome! I couldn't have asked for better people to raise me! This endeavor is about meeting the folks that could have raised me. Hence, my apprehension, excitement, and well, everything else!

Thank You! We will have to see how it turns out! I'm expecting greatness!

    Carry On!

Totally forgot about Chisholm Trail. That place was good too. Last time I was there was probably 2012. I did several years of my undergrad at UT Austin and then SWTSU, so Salt Lick, Wushacks, Scholt's, Iron Horse, and all the others were frequented. I really need to make a day trip back down to Lockhart and Luling.
