Dumb question or maybe not... rooftop tent

hi all
I have an 08 dcsb with a leer fiberglass shell, love the shell, mostly for storage and to keep things dry etc, don’t really use it for camping, would love to get more into camping and overlanding, have a buddy that lives out in Wyoming, plan to head out and visit! (I live in northeast ma)
I see a ton of tents but they are all on racks in the bed, anyone have or use a rooftop tent with a cap?

 

It can crack your top at the top corners. Buy a bed rack. Good luck on your trip.

 

Plenty of people, myself included for a little bit. I didn’t like it being that high up. Made the center of gravity sketchy off road, and setting it up was trickier. I’m 6’ tall and still didn’t like it.

 

Depends on your shell, some are reinforced and can take the weight, others less so
