I don't do any real nasty offroading, so mostly interested in improving aging suspension for road use. Looking at replacing coils with MOOG 81102's, and replacing shocks and struts. It seems like 5100's are by far the most recommended way to go on tacomaworld, are there reasons for this besides the adjustable ride height? 4600's and 5100's are priced pretty darn closely on Rock Auto, which I thought was kind of weird since I always assumed 4600's were the lower tier option. Also, the Billstein website says that 5100s require 1" lift block in the back for installation, is this right? If so, it seems like 4600's are the way to go for stock height, at least in the back. Thanks ya'll

5100’s have a slightly stiffer ride, but it’s a better stiff. Truck feels a little more sporty imo. You do NOT need a lift in the rear or anything if you just set them to 0. Personally, I’d check craigslist and see if you can find some OEM coils that you could use.
