Does anyone know where I can get stainless steel bolts for the ones that go into the roof and hold down the prinsus onto the roof? I guess prinsu fucked up the bolts when they sent it to the guy who I bought it from, and he totally destroyed the threads in the roof, probably where he would have to thread it again with something bigger. Does anyone know where I can get them online?

My money is on that the guy didn’t thread them by hand and used an impact or something and fucked the threads himself

You should be able to get the bolts from Home Depot

We used the same bolts and it started to fuck up my threads, they would start threading and then it would tear them apart. We went to the hardware store and they were standard, and called prinsu and they said they use metric

With my prinsu alone I barely noticed a difference, except for when the moonroof was open, but after I put 2 plano cases up there it went from a 2 to a 9 with wind noise. I couldnt hear my girlfriend talking to me in the passengers seat for a 4 hour drive. I probably made her repeat things louder like 25 times throughout the drive lol

So what you're saying is we should definitely add as many cases as possible up there right?

That is exactly it. Get a better stereo system and blast the music and youll have no problem!

But actually, its loud but its something I can deal with, especially because now I can put stuff up there and not load up the back seats with all that crap

If she's still your girlfriend after that situation you should probably put a ring on it and keep that locked down, haha!

Well, that's annoying. I guess I need to get some new belts for my Work Sharp knife grinder anyways...

Weird that Home Depot's would be narrower? Are there different specs for the heads between the 20 (coarse) and 28 (fine) threaded bolts?

Considering I am 18, a freshman in college, just met her parents this weekend, and we have only been dating for 2 months... I think I will wait:eek: But she has been dying for me to take her out on the trails, and she allows me plenty of time per week to work on my truck so thats a good sign!

Oh for sure. She does sound like a keeper but def wait 10 years at least to get married. Once you're done with college it will give you a lot to think about on all fronts.

My only advice: Travel. I know it's hard when you're in school and broke but it gets harder when you've got a steady 9-5, kids, mortgage, etc. It sounds odd but ask any old fart like me and they'll probably agree.

I have a dream of doing a cross country trip one summer, or at least up to montana camping all the way there and back, starting from DC where I live

Mounted my pelican case without drilling holes in it. Just popped the wheel and one handle out for tie down points.

    Installed my Prinsu!

I bought it used from another member who had it painted white so I sanded it down and painted it black.

I followed Prinsu's instructions for the most part but also did the following.

I removed the weather strips and used painters tape to mark where the holes are. I then put the weather strips back in place to mark where the lines were on the tape.

To make the holes in the weather strips, I used this 3/4" leather punch which is part of a kit off Amazon.

When reinstalling the weather stripping, I used some 3M two-sided tape. I also used some silicone caulking for each of the spacers/bolts for the roof rack side rails.

To mount it, I mounted the side rails first and then did the crossbars. I left everything loose until I got everything mounted together and then tightened the rack down.

I have a gun case for recovery gear and tools mounted with u-bolts, washers, and nuts. I have holes in the gun case in the bottom and then fed the u-bolts through the bottom around the crossbar and into the gun case. I then used washers and nuts to secure it.

I used the Prinsu light bar mounts and painted them black. I ran the wiring of the light bar wiring up the passenger side of the windshield.

I also used the Prinsu noise-reducing edge trim. I originally used a wind deflector without a cutout since that's what the guy I bought it from had but I ended up buying one with a 40" cutout which I like a lot more.

Hey guys! Has anyone ever mounted an awning to one of these racks but on an access cab? If so, got any pics?

I’m trying to find a way to get an awning on my truck for shade but still retain an open bed (need to put dirt bikes in the bed). I can only find people who have done this with a four door. Thank you!!!

Perfect!!! I didn’t know if the awning had to be supported over the entire length or not. Looks like you have an overhang so it’ll work perfect

Yup it over hangs by about 2 feet because I have my RTT on the other side. This is also a 6' awning (don't mind my friend being an idiot, these are super old pics too)

    I mounted it like this
