I’ve got my Maxsa traction boards, a shovel, and the T-mount with fire extinguisher, flashlight and hatchet. This is a great instructional thread.

Great job, no reason to spend what some of these companies want for what can be done for considerably cheaper. I did close to the same thing, I also picked up some knobs at my local hardware store after having to get my jack out for once on the trail.

OP @Benson X Thank you for the detailed instructions. Just ordered the T-slots from Zoro and looking forward to doing this over the weekend with some beer.
I'm also pondering trying to make a jerrycan mount.
    Cheers!

I figured out how to do this stuff long before there was a DIY thread. Tee ball level kid stuff. So I was feeling pretty superior.....

Until I saw that right there and realized what a spastic moron I really am. Turn one shovel Quick Fist 90 degrees. So simple, so obvious! So now Im headed to the garage to fix a bad installation that I've been looking at for years.

Add another successful mod to the list!!! 5 foot bed makes it a little more snug, but everything fits. Thanks Benson, great write up!

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
You're welcome! That's pretty badass that everything still fits with the 5' bed!

Just finished up a partial set of these mounts. One thing I wanted to do was be able to lock the jack in place since I have an open bed at the moment, So I added a locking bar to the high lift mount.

    20190109_194507.jpg

The Lock plate was something that came to me as I looked at some of left over steel. So I cut a piece down to cover about 8 of the holes on the bar of the jack. then drilled the 3/8" hole in the center. and used a medium size unibit to make the larger holes at the end spaced out evenly.

Works with a standard masterlock, although a longer hasp would be better.

    20190109_194326.jpg

There is a second lock plate on the other part of the mount to prevent someone from working one end loose and using it as lever to break or damage something

Great idea. I was having the same thoughts about locking up my jack.

How did these plans work out for you on your 2019?

they worked great... a slight bend in the middle to bow the bracket and it fit like a glove.

Here's my attempt. It works great except I removed the small base of the jack (by removing the pin) and now keep that base on the floor behind the seat because it was rattling against the body of the jack. The jack itself is silent on the mount.

Thanks to @Benson X for this writeup!

I made my own tool mounts with only minor tweaks since it was well thought out.

I used the following to make mine:
I followed the instructions in @Benson X's post, except I used 5/16" versus 3/8" so that I can use the Hondo t-nuts, to make and mount the brackets. I also drilled additional holes so that I can add a cable and lock through the brackets and into the tools. I accidentally cut my aluminum brackets a hair too short but they work with no issues.
To mount the quick fists on the bracket, I used:
    They were installed as follows:
    • Original quick fists for shovel
      • #10-24 pan head bolt > plastic washer > quick fist > bracket > #10-24 lock nut
    • Mini quick fists for axe
      • #10-24 pan head bolt > #10-24 washer > quick fist > bracket > #10-24 lock nut

It's hi-lift! It's the 48" Patriot edition. It comes blue. It also comes with a white handle and a red handle isolator. I painted the handle and isolator black. Here's a link where I bought it on Amazon but most places that sell hi-lift sell it.
