I wasn’t wanting to say brand based on the fact that the customer service has been superb and they are a quality company and don’t want people starting to second guess. After not acquiring the 2” I was looking for from the first set of coils they shipped me the next larger spring priority mail to Alaska for free. Let’s just say they are from Australia but not OME;)

As far as I understand, loaded bushings should be torqued at ride height/vehicle sitting under its own weight. The OEM leaf springs bushings and control arm bushings are "loaded". The rubber in them is bonded to the inner and outer sleeve. If you look at the OEM inner sleeves they have serrated ends, which when clamped between the ears of a mount, dig into the steel and don't slip. If you torque the bolt down when the suspension isn't at typical ride height it will place constant load/stress on the rubber since it will be twisted constantly.

If you compressed the suspension more than it would be under its own weight, the loaded bushings will be trying to compress the suspension at ride height. I know this can cause travel issues on the rear suspension, however it may or may not affect ride height on the front, but it's an easy thing to check/adjust.

If all else fails and you are dead set on getting more ride height, you can sell/return what you've got and get a set of adjustable coilovers.

5100/885 w/ 1/4 lean spacer, Icon RXT w/ B110’s, 255/80/17 FWP, AP Apex Sliders, KDMax 87, ADD W1, BD mirror riser
I have 885’s in front (1/4 spaced on DS) on my DCSB OR and have 22” mid hub to fender up front. Settling and alignment both led to lower height in end.

I like the height because the inner CV’s don’t rub at all and alignment got to spec without upper control arms. Also fits the 255/80/17s with little trimming.

I was wondering more for the lb rating of the coil and the brand would’ve helped. You are probably fine

@SpeySquatch, @tetten Thank you both for your help. I appreciate all your feedback. I will probably jack up the truck and loosen cam bolts then put truck on the ground and re-torque. @SpeySquatch the suspension is Dobinson with 314 coils. I love the way it rides. Def. big improvement over stock and top notch customer service. I am content with the height especially since I don’t plan on any larger tires. My mane focus here was to understand these measurements and make sure that I had done things properly. It def. looks like a minimum of 2” to me. My best guess is that my original ride height was much lower than everyone else. Thanks again for your help. I have learned a lot about my truck and it’s suspension along the way which to me is another great benefit in doing your own work when possible. Happy Eater fellas!

You as well. Everything seems/looks fine. The 2nd gen Tacos are 1” lower stock than the 3rd gen so the measurement may be subjective since Dobinson is new to the game for the 3rd gen.

Rodger that. There must be some variance because I am at 22” and I def. have more than 1” up front I would think. Also I have a 3 leaf aal from headstrong with OL taken out in rear. Rated for 1.5” lift and my rear is at 22.5” so I am sure that those aal’s gave me more than .5 inch since the whole 3 pack is at least 1” thick.

My Kings have 3-4 threads showing above the preload adjustment nut. Mine came like that from King. Is your preload Nut (ring) tightened down any? It's the big nut that sits on top of the coil spring. That will give you some lift. You need professional advise to do it correctly. You don't want to much preload.

This is what mine look like. It's the big nut at the top of the spring. When you tighten it, it compresses the spring.

@JARStacoma what shocks did you say you had in the front? can you get a closer picture of the suspension?

I also have Dobinson’s 314 coils. Just went outside and measured center hub to fender—22.5”. Ground to fender—38”
Stock UCA’s, no extra front weight. 275/65/18 (32”) tires.
From my calculations 2.5” of lift.

Something is up with the top pic. The coil is sitting weird and causing a weird bow to it. Is the coil the right side up (if it matters)?

The top rubber spacer is kinked funny and unless my eyes are playing tricks the spring is not straight vertically and has unsymmetrical spacing around the shock

Prior to my suspension, I had a 2/1” spacer lift. I measured ground to fender and it was 37.25”. After putting on the suspension, it was 38 (I gained .75”). So I just assumed it went from 2” with spacer lift to 2.75” with suspension.
I never measured it stock. And since Dobinson’s claim 2.5-2.75” with the 314 coils (with light or no weight), my before and after measurements made sense to me.
But if you say it’s only 1.75” from stock, I can’t argue that since I don’t have my stock measurements. But I do know that when I park next to another taco with a “3 inch lift,” we seem to sit level with each other.

don’t measure ground to fender it changes too much with temp and is not the true way to measure. You are relying on your tires giving you true measurement.

Center hub to fender on a stock 3rd gen TRD OR is 21”
