Truck Camping Photo Thread

My two campsites in Death Valley:

 

How crowded were the springs?

 

At furnace creek Texas springs, pretty much every good campsite was taken when I was there Wednesday and Thursday. Everything else was out in the open during a pretty strong wind.

 

Pretty crowded by the springs standards. But not too bad, we had no issues.

 

Next trip report started ...Little did I know what was in store, or all that we would see. We had no idea that by the end, our trip would be in Ruins.

...After catching our breaths and with our stomachs satisfied, it didn't take long for us to look for just the right place to try to capture Druid Arch. With the sun behind it, we weren't sure if we could even capture the grandeur, but we experimented with various exposures and settings and hoped for the best.

My guess is that when nature looks like this, it's hard to end up with something unusable.

First camping trip in the truck, spent the weekend at Lake Murphysboro and hiking around the western side of Shawnee National Forest

 

Two nighter at Taboose Creek with the new trailer.

 

Dreaming of a trip to Ocracoke or Hatteras.

As Brett pulled into line at the top of the hill, I jogged back down to my truck - excited as usual when the trail requires a bit of attention. And, like the first three guys, I made it up unscathed - though I did stall once, "A little too trusting of the low gears, like Frank." Laughed Monte.

The low gears definitely are nice!

This is what I rock on my (longbed) platform. Fits like a glove, comfy.. not too firm or soft, and light. Those looking at it - check ebay. I bought mine for around $65 shipped last year.
