Just wondering what insurance would do? My front end setup is now a SSO Slimline with a Smittybuilt X20C winch which runs a good $1600 for everything. Would they put my truck back to stock or what would happen? I know, I know call em and ask and I may do that out of curiosity if no one here has a good guess. Thanks guys!

You need to let your insurance know about the mods. They will cover it as long as you are paying to have it covered.

I will call them tomorrow, I’d say the pieces I cut and removed would end up being as much or more than my new setup is with what things cost.

As @JoeCOVA stated, check with your insurance provider. My policy for example covers X dollars worth of custom or aftermarket work/parts without an increase in premium. Even with the rack that I added, that is under the X amount, I still contacted them to make sure it was on record.

Most insurance and body shops use used/refurbished parts to cut costs. You's be surprised how many parts are actually used but youre not wrong in how overpriced the plastic bits are.

Forgot to update this after a call to my agent, he didn’t know the answer right off but made some calls and finally told me if my new bumper/winch is bolted to my truck then it’s covered. No need for a rider policy or anything. Erie insurance.

I rolled this and they covered everything a 100% ended up giving me more than the vehicle was worth. Kept the Jeep and turned it into this. Still runs trails today.

I'd be more concerned if you were at fault and rear ended someone. If it caused MORE damage to their vehicle as a result of having an aftermarket bumper I wonder if they would cover that.

or injured someone that you hit. their lawyer could argue that exta heavy, big bumper caused their client more pain/injury.

Yup, that's why you have good coverage, so that you'll be covered.

Years ago I was sued for 100k, a very old lady couldn’t plant flowers because of her broke wrist due to a wreck. So I’d expect to be sued if I hit someone, it’s just the way it is now days. I’m sure my bumper would be brought up also. Does make me wonder if it would make us more liable where we are removing all the Toyota designed/NTSB approved safety stuff up there. Hopefully no more than I drive my truck I won’t find out.
