I know we can't predict the future, but in 20 years do you think the 3rd gen Tacoma will be as valuable and admired as the 1st gens are today? Why or why not?

I'm certain 6MTs will. I really doubt there will be new manuals especially in trucks 20 years from now.

Agreed...seems like the auto industry is shying away from single cab trucks and manuals these days. At least in the US.

I'm sure it will. Everyone has/had something to gripe about in their generation, it just turns out every generation has a different issue to gripe about and trickles over into a whos the bigger bully contest at the end of the day.

Could you imagine trading in a Taco for a jetpack

No, the frames will have rotted away and all of the auto trans will have burnt up from hunting for gears.

Besides, a reckoning is coming and it's going to be biblical.

    Good luck to all.

No, there will be 10x the amount of 3rd gens than there were first gens.

I'll be surprised if we're even able to own gasoline vehicles in 20 years lol, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

No, because in 20 years the 3rd gen will just be a truck. The new trucks of the future will be out and the 1st gen ( the few that will still be around) will still be the basic vehicles that many will love to have. The 3rd gen will be an in between vehicle that no one really cares about. Not a basic truck with no bells and whistles, and not a futuristic truck with all the bells and whistles.

it’ll be sad if Toyota hasn’t figured out the frame issues after 3 generations of a vehicle. However I’m not gonna hold my breath that the 3rd gens will free of the frame rot issues

The first gens were loved because they were the last real small basic trucks with nothing fancy. Just good 4x4. They are timeless because of that. I think 2nd gen and 3rd gens are going to just be old Toyotas.

I was going off memory. I knew it went into the 3rd gens, just couldn't remember how far.
