OE pads are the best balance for bite, dusting, life, and noise. You can get other brands which may be better in one area but worse in another.

Only annoying thing is OE pads don't come with shims, just so Toyota can charge extra $$ for a shim kit.

Usually the shims, springs and pins can be had from Napa or an equivalent for less than $20. Compared to the dealer I’m sure that’s much cheaper.

I don’t know the case where you would need new shims. If you service breaks and clean them often enough they should last vehicle lifetime.

When you change pads, put anti seize between pads, and plates and they are good to go

any news on Ontario removing the front license plates off of cars?

if they do remove it, this may speed things along to get a slimline bumper (anyone here that have one?) since i will now have 2 ugly holes in my front bumper

I only saw that they are changing the slogans for sure. They talked about removing the front plates, but it did not come out in the information released.

I am assuming they will eliminate the front plate as just to save money, 1/2 the costs of plates for every car saved.

brimell toyota gave me a pretty good price on OEM.
$114 regular price but they lowered it to $104, and rotors for $86 each.
They also got me the OEM cam sleeve that I need to replace and put OEM back in since I have the moog ones right now in which I've heard aren't the greatest for $36 each. Compared to all other dealers telling me $50

I don't know what it is with these dealers because all five different dealers I called had completely different prices but Brimell was the best.

Based on everything I read on here and like @TeecoTaco aswell mentioned.
Seems OEM isn't the greatest at everything but its pretty good all around. There's otehrs that might excel in one spot but fall short in others so figure OEM works.
I don't really have any complaints about them so meh.

Only real complaint is not strong enough but thats to be fixed with bigger brakes.
