Finally got my sample harness out to the vendor for review. I have their initial quote, but I want to make sure they have everything correct. I should get a response in a week or so once it arrives to them.

    We are getting closer!

Also, side note.... Mat @OVTune confirmed that 2lo in software is likely not a real possibility anytime in the near future. He has not located any reference to 4x4 or locker in the RAM dump he got. In addition he would need some external button or method to actually enable it.

I forgot to mention, I am having them build 2 samples that I will check out before we finalize everything. They will be doing pull testing and 100% continuity testing on these also.

Oof! Even urban dictionary left me high, dry, and NSFW there. Been using that since I was a kid, just a variation of ham fisted. I think I will use that exclusively these days . . .

I figured that was what you meant, lol. But no, I still don't recommend yanking the plugs out by the wires!

    Agreed.

Are these connectors clipped in? Assuming so.

Yes, all the connectors on our trucks are latching as far as I know. The 40 pin connector in particular is a pretty tight fit though. I used a flat blade screwdriver to gently pop it free.

    Thanks!

I have a favorite little slotted driver for doing that. It sounds stupid, but it is one of my favorite tools. I've put it through hell for what it is and it is still store fresh.

I used a larger/wider one with a twisting motion which worked well. I like the Whia stuff a lot. I just wish I could justify the $$ for more of them.

I just have that one. I probably paid $5 for it over 20yrs ago. It seemed to be a stupid price then, but it has lived beyond anything that I would have expected, including metal to metal prying.

I’ve been using my 2 lo function the last week over and over backing up my dump trailer.
You guys will love it with the plug and play harness!
Most useful mod to truck ever.

    :amen:

The times that I crawled into the garage, or reversed up my driveway, in 4Lo was a joy. Doing that without binding, priceless.

I'm going to be towing a fully loaded 6x12 enclosed uhaul trailer this weekend. My temporary harness is semi-disassembled, but I think I am going to put it back together before the weekend. I will need to back up my driveway and this mod makes that so much easier.

Hell yeah! But, the 2nd Gens already have a PnP solution. The 3rd Gen has a different 4wd ECU.

It is a box with no button needed. You just hold the knob between 2Hi and 4Hi for a few seconds, or something like that.
