In 20 years, will our 3rd gens be as beloved as 1st gens are today?

Head gasket problems = no

 

Do you know my brother lol? He works in IT and started woodworking last year.

My side job is about the same as my main job. Just less to do and do it at home.

 

I’m trying to come up with a good side gig that has nothing to do with my daily job.

 

3.4l in 1st gen had head gasket issues early also. Not to mention frame rot, LBJ failures and pink milkshake in trans.

 

You act like 2nd gen frames are neat, I hadn’t heard about the gasket problem, balljoints are a wear item, maintenance fixes that. Haven’t heard of the trans problem either

 

I don’t think any “Tacoma” will be as sought after as the pickups. I think that is mostly because of scarcity now. I had a 1994 pickup and loved that truck. That more than anything is why I bought my 2016. I have my complaints about it but I’d like to try to keep it for 20 years see.

 

Yeah, I have a side gig too, but its still desk work, just at home lol.

 

Make something and sell it online. It’s rewarding.

I'm in the trades. HVAC, and it's a great job. I've seen companies in the Seattle area hiring at $50 /hr because they can't find people. I could quit today and have a new job anywhere in the country by the end of the week.

To stay on topic, no I don't think 3rd gens will stand up to time as well as the first gen. Too many electronics and gizmos that will eventually start going out. I do think they will do better than the competition though.

 

That’s kind of what I have been thinking about, just haven’t come up with anything yet. I make anything I need myself now, just seems tricky when your trying to please someone else. I’m also way to picky with everything I do.

 

How is going to college mutually exclusive to the list of professions you listed?
