So, new to me 2017 Tacoma with lots of high tech things on it. Was considering getting the Secure Drive extended warranty, does anyone have any experience with them?
    Thanks
    Steve

How much do you drive annually? IMO, I wouldn't bother, unless with the exception that you drive 20k+ per year and you can get it for <$1000, preferably for <$800. Dealers push them since there typical value is <$1000 and they walk away with the extra 2k they charge in pocket. Most people drive 10-15k annually, so it would take them 3-4yrs to hit the 60k mark. Most people in America keep their vehicles for about 2 yrs.

Sooo... If you anticipate owning the truck for a long time, drive a lot, cant or wont do your own work, or anticipate something major breaking (failure cost needs to be greater than out-of-pocket to make the coverage worth it) then yes by all means consider it. Otherwise, save your money for now and read the contract. A lot of more expensive repairs that occur out of warranty are sometimes considered wear and tear/ineligible.

I had one for a Subaru, I anticipated keeping for a long time because turbo replacements easily run past that 1k mark. I did get my money back when I sold the Subi, but getting it back was a hassle and took months.
