Loading ATV's in 6' Bed w/Toolbox

I'd also think about getting some airbags or beefier leaf springs if you carry the quad a lot. Most utility quads are AT LEAST 600 pounds these days. Sportsman 570 is 704lbs dry.

I used to haul a YFZ450 around in my bed, all by itself, and the truck sagged pretty good. It was only 350lbs dry.

 

Oh, and one more thing - budget in a suspension reinforcement like airbags, extra leaf, or helper springs. ATV +tools = bumpstop poundtown on the tacomas.

Might be risky with a Heavy ATV.

Also, does your friend have Bed Stiffeners or anything? I know on the 2nd Gens the bed could spread from just hauling a reasonably heavy canopy.

I'm sure it would work, but that's a lot of weight way up high....

 

I’d get some tail gate reinforcements, something to keep it from bending and something stronger than the cables.

Or fab up some ramps to get the front tires on the tool box if you’re never need to get into it while it loaded.

 

I guess people do it with snowmobile all the time, but they’re mostly just doing highway to wherever they park.

 

Yeah, even the Decked Storage would put it pretty darn high. but at least not THAT high.

Ive thought about one of those for the bike to keep gear underneath but im stuck with a short bed and my bike doesnt fit in there anyways so i need the tailgate length.

 

Here we go!! 6ft Norweld Tray! Under bed storage (no need for toolbox anymore). And not Crazy high center of gravity. Only like $10-$12K!! lol.
