i must say it took me under an hour. Instructions were pretty much generic but the YouTube video really helped. Well made minus the shavings inside the holes for the clip tie downs. Sure there’s little thing where and there but install was easy and man it looks good!! Love how flush it is and here in So Cal I don’t expect much weather so didn’t install the drain tubes. I may for the winter. We’ll see. Didn’t want to wait for shipping so went to 4Wheel parts and even purchased the 3 year extended warranty in case I do something stupid to it. Only $65 extra.

I bought the MX4 last year. I live in SoCal also. I didn't install the drain tubes either and glad I didn't. Even during this past winter with all the rain we had, it would barely get wet back there. I would still leave my tools and bags back there and they would be totally fine. Still Loving my cover, good choice.

I’ve had mine on about a year. So far no issues and I declined to install tubes as well. Minor water gets in at times, but nothing to make me drill the holes. Good choice on the cover.

Just curious... Why did you guys choose the MX4 over the other BAK options? I’ve been looking at them for a while since I’ve had little luck finding an OEM longbed cover.

I was considering the Revolver but I’ve seen that it can jam when it gets a little snow on it. There’s a YouTube video about it. We go to the local mountains and Mammoth. Didn’t want to have that issue. Less moving parts the better and I think the revolver has a vinyl top to it. Could fade or rip over time. I like the idea of the MX4’s rugged top. There’s also the fiber max. I like the idea of a light weight fiberglass panel but could get damaged easily compared to aluminum? Just my opinion.

Just liked the look of it with the matte black finish.
