Orange Peel effect

    The Paint along the Bottom section of the Doors on my truck appears to be a little rough like a Orange Peel effect. Is this normal? It's hardly noticeable and you have to look close to see it. One side is a little worse then the other.

    It's put on prior to the paint. It supposed to help with rock chips and such. Most auto manufacturers put it on the vehicles now. Honda typically layers it on thick.

    yes i also noticed this when waxing my tacoma. but i just thought it was an uneven layer of paint. who knew

    Thank for the input guys, I thought it might be some kind of undercoating beneath the paint.
