Question for the people that might have some more experience.

My buddy has a 3rd gen that he replaced his stock rear bumper with a sweet CBI and no longer needs his bumper/reciver hitch.

At the moment my 2nd gen doesn’t have a hitch and we were thinking that it might be possible to add the hitch to my truck.

I figured the frame couldn’t be that different but maybe the mounting points are. I got under the truck and looked but to be honest I don’t really know what I’m looking at and I can’t really hold the hitch up there by myself to get a good look.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Measure the hitch . Measure the Truck.

It should mount to the same place your bumper mounts to the rear of the frame

Possible check Hitch Manufactures for part numbers for both trucks in the old days that worked now 10 different numbers for the same item

I think the issue I was having at the time was figuring out where the suck mounts but the "same place as the bumper" is helpful. I have done the hitch check but as you mentioned there are several different part numbers so a little hard to tell.

Anyway, I'm hoping this weekend I can just loosen the bumper and get a buddy to help hold the thing up there.
