I was installing some auxiliary lighting on the truck this weekend. After running the wiring harnesses through the fire wall on the driver side of my 2011 Tacoma 4x4 I began to clean up and I find a plug with 4 wires unplugged(see photos). Wire colors red, black, green, white w/black stripe. Any ideas? I’m thinking it’s maybe related to the stock stereo? Everything seems to be working.

If I’ve posted in the wrong area let me know.

Could be rear speakers or some other feature that your truck didn't come with from the factory. They install generic wiring harnesses to keep everything consistent when assembling the trucks at the plant. When I did my sound system, I found a few connectors that weren't plugged into anything... under the center console and behind the kick panels.

    Yep.
Looks like the connector for the upper console (map lights/compass) harness assembly.

    Yep.
Do you have a back-up camera?

Looks similar to the stock connection for that as well, and it mounts to the upper aft face of the drivers side fuse panel. At least it does in my 09 RC.

I do have a back up cam but it was an aftermarket install I did with a locking tailgate. I should have mentioned in the first post that it is a base model.
