After 25+ years of owning Jeep Wranglers I finally made the switch to a Tacoma. My GF got a 2016 a couple years ago and it has been a great truck. So, when the time came for a new ride...I headed down to the nearest Toyota dealership and ordered in this beaut.

I could not find a MGM DCLB TRD OR with tech and premium package locally but the dealer found one a state away so the wait was only a week or so. Plenty enough time for me to start ordering parts once I had the truck on order. 20 minutes after parking the truck in my driveway I broke the tools out and started the easy mods.

Mod 1 - TRD Pro Grill

    upload_2019-4-13_18-55-23.pngupload_2019-4-13_18-55-29.png
Mod 2 - Redline Hood Struts
    upload_2019-4-13_18-56-7.png
Mod 3 - Remote start and Pop & Lock (no pics)

Mod 4 - Dash Multi-Mount. This is a slick product but has a major drawback in that it doesn't use standard ram ball mount's threading. Not sure why the manufacturer chose to use the size threads they did but a few minutes with a tap and all the holes were 1/4-20 and I was able to use normal Ram Balls. Tapping the mounting holes on this to 1/4-20 and this product went from good to great imo.

Mod 5 Full De-Badging (not really a mod per se)

Goes in this week for Tires/Wheels/Lift. So more pics to come

Mod 7 - Baja Designs Squadrons to replace Factory Fogs - these are just wired to the stock wiring atm. I may add a switch in the future - we will see how I like this setup.

Not the best pic - normal PNW rainy day. I will get some better pics once the sun finally comes out. Truck has a lot of forward rake currently. I will be adding a canopy (on order) and a truck vault + gear. Should level out about perfect I think.

I didn't do anything but the OME BP-51 kit. I did the HD rear springs. Rides is noticeably better than stock imo. I had a shop install it so no tips for ya

Loving it so far. Ride is great - I think the height will be perfect for my needs. Highly recommend!

Biggest problem I have had so far is the spare. Getting the 255/80R17 tire to fit under the bed took a lot of work. It is currently wedged between the exhaust on the passenger side and the frame on the drivers side with no room to spare.
