They are supposed to have self adjusters but they don't work and you can adjust them without having to take the wheel or drum off from the back side of the plate

Ill have to take a peek the next time I get some free time. It's not that I dont believe you but that's a pretty piss poor design by Toyota. Dont get me wrong, I understand the benefits of having drum brakes for towing and hauling, but I would rather have disks in the rear without having to modify the rear-end.

I hear you on that . That's why I plan on using 4runner axle shafts with the bearing's and backing plate already on them so I can convert the rear to disc brakes

Debadged, decals removed ARE V series Camper Shell, RallyArmor mud flaps I’m old, my truck is boring
Speaking of maintenance, I bought new u-joints and new cv axles from Napa today. At 20% off they were like $75 each. I’ll rebuild my OEMs and save them as spares. Truck is only leveled so I’m not too worried about the boots and I don’t use it as a trail rig so I imagine the slightly smaller shafts will work fine for now. Any tricks to replacing cv’s minus the 35mm socket?

    Baseball day!

First post-school season tournament ... in Chapin ....

    & ... off ... we ... go ...

According to tracking, tires should be here today. Day after I ordered them. Damn, that’s fast!

    Edit:
On way here: spun the tires crossing 76 from a stop sign.
With a 2.4, that’s not supposed to be possible without serious effort ... Hence, new sticky tires.

Perhaps the reason I'm not having any issues *knock on wood* could be due to the fact that I set my parking brake when I'm parked up at the house. My reasoning is that I'd rather set my trucks brakes instead of having it rest on my transmission/gearbox on my partially sloped driveway.

I always use my parking brake when parking ...
Put the manual in neutral, & pop the T (old school parking brake)

    Aren’t most Tacos manual?
    hahahahaha

Really should leave in gear as a back up, “just in case”

And manual trans anything is getting harder to find.
    I still own a 3rd gen 5spd 4Runner just for that reason
