OK. Ready for a FML rant? Cool. Here we go.

So, I got a chance today to install the OME Dakar CS019R's in my beater 96 Taco. You know, the springs that are going to give 2.25" of lift? Yeah, those fucking things.

After 3 hours in the garage I lowered the rig. I took a quick dirt test drive to break them in before I fully torqued everything down. I get it back in the garage in set torque to spec(my spec, big fucking impact.)

Out comes the tape again. Now, keep in mind, I'm a carpenter. I use a tape a lot. I'm more familiar than most with how to use them properly.

With that background I'm sure I can do some simple math. So I did. I took the before number and subtracted it from the after number. I went perfectly flat garage floor to fender. Why? Because it's more accurate then going center hub to fender. I also could give two shits about comparing apples to oranges with the rest of TW. lol

Long story longer, I managed to get exactly 5" of lift from these paired with Billies. WTF? Where my old springs that fucked? Guess that answer is yes. lol

So now I look like a retarded stink bug wanna be overlander. Except I don't have an RTT. FML. Guess I'll be getting some coil overs sooner then I expected. lol

Here's the proof. My 4Runner is on 35's with 4" of lift on the rear. The Taco is on 30's. lol

That's not in the spirit of a vehicle form at all, I'm gonna have to request a copy of your man card for audit

Oh and the "Automobiles as Boring Appliances Coalition" called, they would request you change your wheels back to stock as it is more in line with their view and since you're a prominent member it looks bad on their part.

I've installed those springs four or five times now, this is well documented that they provide 2.25" on a pickup and 4+ on a tacoma, usually have to pull leaves.

Where the hell did I miss that documentation? I searched a lot of sources before I committed to them. Worse case I saw was someone bitching about 3" of lift. lol

I have an 8" dick that's really 7" is conservative. I have an 8" dick that's barely 4" is a flat out lie. lol

I tweak my stuff too, but going out of the way to make the interior of my truck feel older such as those flat door panels? Not my style. I like my mods to appear as though they couldve come with the truck from the factory.

On the CS019R they really don't much. Took mine 3 years to settle an inch.

They're heavier duty than the Dakars for the 98-04 so you can take a leaf or two out to make them settle and match standard weight dakars

Remove? Now that's conservative. I'm just gonna double stuff the bitch. Lift the front and throw the 295/70/17's in my garage on. That will mean new coilovers and new 17" rims but it's only money.

How much money over how long do you want to put on that? I'll bet $100 that it settles less then 1/2" over 2 months. It's stock with zero weight in the back just so we are clear. lol

Plus the 95-00 door panels look way better to begin with, it's an upgrade as far as I'm concerned.
