Keep it stock or slap a ARB bar on it?

  1. Keep it stock, why ruin the look of that TRD Pro?

ARB bumpers are well-regarded, arguably considered some of the best offerings in the whole industry. Very good build quality and durability.

    However......

Their bumpers are heavy. They are really designed for vehicles that can handle the weight (in terms of GVWR) and engine (diesel or powerful gasoline v8's). The Tacoma just isn't well suited to being loaded down, IMO at least.

    They stick out a lot.

You paid extra money for the TRD Pro suspension, which inevitably will have to be replaced if you go with that heavy of a bumper.

Also, I see little point in paying that kind of money for for a bumper simply because someone dinged your truck in a parking lot.

I would get a bumper if you plan on traveling in remote wooded areas and you need a winch. I would not get a bumper simply for looks or in the hopes that it will prevent another parking lot accident...it won't. And the aluminum bumpers, though they offer somewhat less protection, are much better suited to the Tacoma's 3.5l engine.
