    What's up guys and gals!

I’m the proud new owner of a cement 4x4 TRD Sport DCSB 6MT. There were four things I wouldn’t compromise on which were color, transmission, trim, and double cab. The closest one to me (LA) at the time was in Beaverton, OR and I thought “Road trip. Why not?!” After a short and painless negotiating process over the phone, I excitedly booked a flight for myself and a couple of buddies and I picked up the keys yesterday afternoon. We stayed the night in Portland and will be driving to Reno in a couple hours to stay there for a night. Then it’s back to LA on Monday. Trip’s already off to a great start because, well, I picked up a Tacoma and the dealership extended the powertrain warranty to 7yrs/100k miles for free. Beaverton Toyota was awesome to deal with.

I’m just lying in bed eager to hit the road while my buddies snore their asses off so I thought I’d share a little bit of my journey.

Sounds like me when I got mine. I drove up to Bend, OR from Monterey. Gorgeous drive on the way back through Crater Lake and Mt. Shasta.

It’ll be even better for you. When I drove through, it was right after the NorCal fires had raged through the area. Still gorgeous, but you could tell it wasn’t nearly as amazing as it once was.

Mt. Shasta is pretty gorgeous because it’ll be snow capped and you’ll see people out fishing. Being from the east coast, I found that pretty wild. Nothing that big over here.

If you can squeeze it in, stop at Salinas City BBQ on the way back. Excellent brisket for California.

Thanks! Najib was great to deal with. Never felt pressured one bit. Just curious, how did you know I worked with him?

Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep that in mind.

Glad to hear it mate! I recognised him in the photo but I also work there, as one of the few who prepare all of the paperwork our guest's sign. I remember seeing you and your two mates walk in yesterday with the luggage in hand. I joked that it was full of cash!

Haha. Duh! Forgot that was him in the photo.

We had come straight from the airport. You guys have a great operation there. Thank you so much for the hospitality and smooth transaction. Here’s to hoping I can actually fill my suitcase with cash after tonight in Reno.

Congrats! Cement was the first color I looked at and really liked even though I ended up with MGM. Good work finding a 6 speed too. They had no 6 speeds on the lot when I was looking and I'm kinda regretting not looking farther away like you did.

Thanks! I really like MGM too. I had a 2nd gen TRD Sport DCSB in MGM in a previous life. Thought I’d change up the color a bit this go around.

I started my search in SoCal dealerships and had to slowly expand since I couldn’t find one with the things I wouldn’t compromise on all in one package. The road trip with my buddies is a plus in all of this.
