so i have revers pods, fog light pods and a 50” light bar that are all independently wired. I’m wondering what is the best way to connect all of these lights to one switch that has a flasher for emergency lighting? Any help is very much appreciated. I have all of my aftermarket lighting on an independent blue sea fuse box with relays for each and an optima yellow top.

So you don’t want to be able to control these lights independently? Best thing would be the switch pros

I still want them to function independently however i want to be able to flip a switch and they all activate on a whelen flasher module.

So long as they are all on relays, you could splice each trigger wire and connect that to the Whelen flasher with a separate switch to activate it.

That’s exactly what i was thinking also but i wasn’t sure if when i active an individual if it would back power the rest of the lights.

it shouldnt so long as the whelen flasher has its own seperate power wire, which it most likely does. In that case the lights can not flash until you turn on the switch to the whelen flasher.

A diode on each splice would block any back signal. Think of it as a check valve for a sump pump.

The flasher has its own power supply.

I also was reading about the diode scenario but i don’t understand it very well. I’m looking for a good diagram with resistance and powerage.

Is it a sin to independently wire your lights??

It only takes about a hundred milliamps to activate a typical bosche style relay so a common 1 amp axial lead diode (wire on each end) should be fine, no resistors or special calculations needed. Since the flasher relay is connected to all the individual lighting circuits via the splices each splice gets a diode to prevent one switch signal backtracking to where the splices come together and propogating from there to turn on all the rest. Diodes have a line on the (-) end and should get soldered with that end towards the individual relay switch wires. That allows one way current to flow from the flasher but not the other way. All the flasher does is trip all the individual relays in synch.
