Im curious is anyone has figured out if I could tap into my wire harness in the cab to have my reverse lights on a switch. I have flush pods connected to my reverse lights on tail lights and I would like to have a switch to flick them both on.

Safe way to do it would be just duplicate the Backup circuit with separate correctly sized relay for the load and run full wires all the way to the back, I certainly would not piggy back onto the OEM circuit however I would pull the signal for the relay from the same source that activates the OEM backup relay.

This^ use a relay, especially with today’s electronics. The reverse wire is ~ a 20 ga wire. It’s not going to be able to handle a bunch of current. The relay is internal in the BCM and if you overload it will more than likely fry inside the BCM. That’s about a $1000 replacement unless you rip the thing apart yourself and clean it up and re-solder a new relay in it.

Or the only other alternative I could suggest is if you have the factory tow package you could splice into the reverse in there. It’s usually used instead of a aux, especially since some newer trailer brakes will actually lock up if there is no reverse wire running to them. That circuit is already isolated and is higher amperage.
