Havent had a problem yet with heat and when I touch the lenses they are cool to the touch. I've had mine in for about a year now and no issues so far!

Glad you really like my headlights I actually got the idea from someone on facebook who was selling his for the same price. I didnt want to spend $900 on those headlights when I knew I could build them for half of that.

If I would have to choose light output that would be hard to say. The projectors from the anzo's were bright and had a very distinct line that separated the light from the dark. Like you would see in any retrofit. The Jeep headlights are amazing when its dark out and its just me on the road. When there is more lights like street lights or other cars its sometimes harder to see. I think a lot of that has to do with my inability to see light at night but who knows If I did end up building another set I would probably use @sidetracked . He's the one that has the Killer Deal on Rigid Lights thread. Morgan has a pair of DOT approved Jeep headlights that I would try out to see if they gave a better light direction.

The jeep headlights are super thin so you need to use a base to create a surface for them to stick to. I explain this in the next paragraph so dont stress There is no way for you to get screws or the stock bracket to work in the headlights and it would look really silly.

For the epoxy but I stole my trick from @TRSAndrew from the retrofit source. He uses JB Weld SteelStick to create a base for either projectors or these headlights to sit on. Once I had the Jeep headlight right where I wanted it I used JB Weld epoxy to make it permanent. This was probably the most scary part for me making these. You have to make sure these are exactly where you want them because the epoxy dries fast. One thing to mention which I didnt think of at the time is to make sure the reflector bowls are level so you can adjust the lights up or down. Mine were all the way down and when I put the Jeep headlights in as level I couldnt get them low enough to where I wanted them. I have only been flashed a couple times and one of them was from a cop

Other than that its pretty easy to make these. I did the BHLM but color matched them. I got everything I needed for materials at Autozone. And yes, you can put the headlights in the oven with the jeep headlights in and be ok with the wires. I followed the BHLM thread to open and seal them and I would highly recommend doing the same thing.

Oh and one last thing too. Since these draw so much power you will have your high beam light start to get brighter and brighter the longer these are on. It turns off when they cool down so its not permanent. Just make sure for longevity's sake turn them on when you need to to keep the LEDs safe since they are in an enclosed space and can get hot if not careful.

Honestly, I am not sure. As long as it fits in the housing you should be ok but you may need an adapter to plug it into the headlight harness depending on the light. I know with the ones I got they plugged directly into the harness so I didnt have an issue. It's really about doing your homework, making sure they are LED's but dont get too hot and taking a shot in the dark

Yeah most of the ones I've looked at have been h4 so they fit harness wise, I guess as long as they are 7 inches it will work lol. I'll do my homework, thanks again man

Anytime! Just try to compare the lumens that I used vs the ones you want and maybe the LED itself. That might help you get an idea if the heat would be an issue.

Hey man I'm actually in the process of building those exact headlights! I just got done painting today and I'm going to touch up some spots tomorrow. The jeep lights should be here sometime next week and I'm using 3M window weld to bond the lens back on and then going around with silicone after I'm finished. my main questions are, am I going down the right route to avoid moisture and how did you get the jeep headlight to stay secured. I thought about using liquid nails to hold it.
