Different strokes get off different folks, as always. I definitely like speed, son. But I'm not a fan of water anymore.

Dont get me wrong I avoid water like the plague at all possible, and although this isnt the best tactic but I would rather bomb and stay at speed then grandma it around a puddle. Im sure my wheel bearings and everything else hate me for it, but its how we used to roll back in VA. @misdirection1982 and @90yota know whats up.

I was going to say something similar. I had the same fear looming in the back of my mind, but then I started paying closer attention when I went through deeper water. At muddy shackle at aoaa where it’s DEEP, it only got halfway up the hood. And I didn’t think it was that deep until I was in it and didn’t have a choice but to continue.

Side note, that was fun. My front end just dropped and I floored it in 1st gear. Bouncing off the rev limiter while slinging a rooster tail 20’ in the air, until I made it through.

I think I know the crossing you are talking about, you got my respect as Im too fearful I will shutdown in that level of water. Love seeing vids of that spot though.

I'm with ya. I'm not gonna grandma too much. I've changed my idler pulleys a few times now and the wheel bearings Haha. I just try to avoid it if I can and take it a little slower thru lakes

This kinda sucked. But I wasnt driving and we backed into it, not realizing the middle was fkin deep. Got water inside my access cab part.

Yea man I totally feel you on that...I know that is just slightly higher then I have ever gone as I came close to cab entry, but was just high enough. I def would have been like naw if its something I dont know how deep it could actually be and has potential. I will say this though...I got water in one of my taillights cause the seal on the middle lamp wasnt solid and dammit those lights were never the same after that. I regret it to this day cause I need to update my wiring back there.

I'm going to run mine into the cab, under the passenger's side fender.

If you know the water is passable, and roughly how deep, you can hit it pretty hard. It's un-known depth that I worry about.

While searching around for snorkel alternatives, I found one I like. You basically have stock location intake AND in cab intake. But you cap off stock and open up in cab for wheeling, but for every day driving it’s the opposite. That way you don’t need to listen to the engine sucking air every day, which I hear is loud.

I'll probably do exactly this, just use a T union in the pipe to pull air out of the wheel well for normal driving, and the cab for wheeling.

We'll see how loud it actually is though.

Yea I've thought about that. But here's the thing... the people in my area don't wheel. They want 241.5 inch wheels with 1 inch tires... they would know what to do with mine. Black people don't wheel.

All kidding aside (or am I kidding... o_O) I'm making a bolt in rack off the bed bars. I'll utilize the OEM spare tire hoist and mount it between my Plano cases. Then I can snug the tire up to the bottom of the rack. In the meantime time, I should really secure it somehow.

Edit... I overheard my neighbor one day telling another person, "dats wut he do, go offroad and shit. Young bol, he built dat truck. Dats wut he do. Dats wut he do"
