Sobe bottle screws into the filler neck. Solid and you don’t have to hold it

 

You can do the same with most motor oil bottles

 

Quart Gatorade bottle works too.

The kind I use have really wide openings and could fit over the entire engine so I can’t do that

 

I bought the $30 Snap-on threaded funnel years ago, and I don't regret it one bit. But I like your MacGyverness.

 

On the topic of bottles.. a Propel 16.9oz bottle is just tall enough to wedge under the oil filter drain tube. Once you stick the tube into the mouth of the bottle, it'll stay put.

 

You can purchase a funnel from the auto parts store that screws into the opening.

 

You could, but that doesn't include 20oz of Sobe.

 

Trim that bottom off nice and flush, shoot the bottle with plasti dip, put a TRD sticker on it and sell them in the market place.

Build it and they will come. At least some of them.

What brand oil bottle works?

 

It has to be full synthetic 0w-50 or else the bottle will blow up.

 

A Mobil 1 bottle screws into the fill neck and wedges nicely under the oil filter drain nipple. With some trimming, it'll even hold the 5 quart bottle upside down to get every last drop.

 

I tried that but after spilling 10 quarts all over the engine and floor before I could get them screwed on, I went back to my old funnel.

So if you use a different term, is it still a hackjob done by a hack??
