Installed OVtune this morning, everything was great. Installed break controller using harness, seemed fine, but now truck is not starting. Battery level is in 12 volts, engine won’t turn over, just making strange interference type noise under the hood. Fuses involving ignition seem fine. Any ideas?

Only thing I’m wondering is that I did try to “share” a ground point from the brake controller harness here:

You did not mention about the OVTune install in the OVTune development thread when posting there about this . It may not have anything to do with it but Mat may know what to try . Just be sure you have everything back to the way it was before the brake controller install . Check that you did not bump any other harnesses under the dash etc. Good luck .

Looks like you solved your problem. Solder those wires together and shrink wrap.

I still find it hard to believe factory harness uses those connectors and loose end wires. I dont believe it.

Never seen a OEM connector like that. OEMs dont use butt connectors that I have seen.

Maybe it was dealer installed then...this is the only time that panel has ever been removed. Scary indeed.

Most likely a dealer installed theft prevention device they try to sell you for a few hundred on each car.

This is from the dealer. it's one of those alarm/keyless devices they install to manage their fleets more easily. It sucks but mine had one too, took me a few minutes to remove all the wire taps and the rats nest they installed. There's probably a black box attached to it all in there somewhere. pull all that junk out and tape over where the wire taps were or leave just the one side on.

I think i can actually see the black box top center zip tied to another harness with electrical tape on the bottom.
